Bio Gro has an exciting opportunity for a professional People and Safety Co-ordinator to join the team based at our Mount Gambier, South Australia site. The position will provide support to the committed team on P&C (WHS focused) issues across our Bio Gro sites.
As People and Safety Coordinator you will be responsible for:
• Supporting Managers and Supervisors in the creation and development of key safety documents, including but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures and Action Plans.
• Oversee the P&C databases and registers to ensure accurate data is provided to the Leadership Group.
• Lead any employee training that is required, in line with Bio Gro’s internal Matrix, to maintain compliance
• Assist with the development of divisional reports, spreadsheets, compliance and training calendars and skills matrix.
• Create/update Processes and procedures as required.
• Manage WHS on site inductions for new starters.
• Collaborate with the HR team in the application of all aspects of the recruitment process.
• Support Management to drive a positive workforce culture.
• Assist with local ad hoc enquiries for employment at Bio Gro and assist the HR with reporting.
• Assist HR/Managers to take ‘corrective action’ with their employees when necessary.
• Work with management to ensure HR practices are in line with Bio Gro objectives.
About you:

• A formal tertiary qualification and experience in WHS is desirable
• Highly developed ability to work in a team environment to collaboratively achieve results.
• Existing knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and standards
• Highly developed ability to attend to detail and to produce accurate work.
• Professional, resourceful and proactive attitude, and the ability to deal with issues in an operational setting
• Ability to organise, multitask, prioritise and work under pressure.
• Demonstrate initiative
• Professional and respectful communication skills, both written and verbal with the aim to provide a solution-based approach in all aspects.
